UC Merced Acceptance Rate, SAT/ACT Scores, GPA
University of California, Merced is a public university with an acceptance rate of 66%. Students will generally need a strong application and good test scores to be admitted. As part of the application, students are required to write four shortà personal insight essays. Who are the changes of gun laws going to affect the law-abiding citizen, or the criminal? Is it ok of the government to strip away the peopleââ¬â¢s Constitutional rights? There are two different sides to every debate. Reasons not to confine gun laws even more would be the second Amendment Right to bear arms, the effect on law-abiding citizens vs. the effect on the criminal, and has it been effective thus far. With all of the gun violence that is taking place, it is not hard to see where one may feel that restricting gun laws is the answer. People are angry that so many innocent people keep getting killed at the hands of criminals with guns. The thought of banning guns is logical and anyone can understand why someone may feel this way. These people are right in the sense; no it is not ok for this to keep happening to innocent people. There are two sides to every story. What or who is committing the crime though the gun or the person? This is where the issue lies in the debate over guns or no guns. The Second Amendment protects the peopleââ¬â¢s right to bear arms. The Supreme Court ruled that the right belongs to individuals. The Second Amendment is to protect the peopleââ¬â¢s right of self-defense, resistance to oppression, and the civil duty to act in concert on defense of the state. Vygotsky believed that any training creates learning processes that lead to development and this system results in zones of proximal development. Vygotsky also described the ZPD as the difference between the actual development level as determined by individual problem solving and the level of potential development as determined through problem solving under adult guidance or collaboration with more experienced peers. The result of this process is children become more socialized in the dominant culture and it en courages cognitive development. In order for the ZPD to be such a success, it must contain two features. The first is called subjectivity. This term describes the process of two individuals begin a task with different understanding and eventually arrive at a shared understanding. The second feature is scaffolding, which refers to a change in the social support over the course of a teaching session. If scaffolding is successful, a childs mastery level of performance can change, which means that it can increase a childs performance on a particular task. He discusses the different types of prayers and also the different situations in which each prayer is to be used. He also lets us know that prayer may not be for every client so it may not be the right technique to use in some those therapy sessions. McMinn (2011), goes on to discuss sin and the importance of looking at in with a theological perspective. If the counselor is able to get the client to really understand their sin, they can then get to a point of forgiveness. After ordering our drinks and food, I began to feel pressured by them because they were getting drunk and they wanted me to get drunk as well. I told them that I am not the same person I use to be, I will not let the devil control my life. After eating they wanted to take the party to the next level and start smoking. When I realized what was about to happen, I decided to remove myself from the equation before something happens I will regret. That experience taught me that I can still have my friends but we canââ¬â¢t hangout as much as we use too. If spirituality is what is best for the client, how does a non Christian counselor help them without recommending a more qualified counselor. there is also the question of not confronting the sin. It would always be more helpful for a sin to be confronted so that the client knows that what they are doing is wrong and they should then be counseled in moving on from this sin and taking the necessary steps to ensure that sin is excluded from their lives.
